About Me
I was born in Rapid City, SD.
I moved to Brandon, SD when I was 4 years old and lived here
through out my school career. I graduated from Brandon in 1998 and decided I needed to move
a bit further away to find my independence:) I
attended and graduated from Mankato
State University
from 1998-2003 with a K-6 teaching degree.
I decided that I
wanted to pursue my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and graduated
fr0m Southwest State
University, Marshall in 2005.
In the
meantime, I was moving from state to state and job to job. I moved back
to SD and I taught my first year at Flandreau
Public School in Flandreau, SD
in 2003. I taught 5-8th reading.
I reunited
with my now husband and moved closer to him in MN. I taught 7-9th grade
reading in Shakopee, MN in 2004.
I married my now
husband, Ryan and we lived in Hampton, MN, which was too far away from
Shakopee, so I resigned my position.
I took a break
from teaching because of wanting to experiment in an elementary position.
So I substitute taught for a year and decided that I loved teaching younger
students. Ryan and I decided to start a family and I became pregnant.
I wanted to
move closer to my family and hometown, so I started pursuing jobs in Brandon and received the
position of 5th grade at Brandon Elementary. We packed up and moved in
June of 2006 and we started building our brand new house on an
acreage by my parents. My daughter Addison was born September 25,
2006 and we moved into our house Oct. 31st. So it was a busy summer and
start of the school year. Cora Lynn was born Oct. 9, 2009. So we have two beautiful daughters that keep
us extremely busyJ
Then I moved to the
Robert Bennis family to teach JrKindergarten in 2007 . Which now brings me to Fred
Assam, teaching 3rd grade!
I have been all over the Brandon district teaching
all different levels and feeling complete in 3rd gradeJ.
